Youths Appeal  For  Governorship Ticket To Ile Ife

The Ifeland Youths Movement has appealed to the All Progressive Party (APC ) State of Osun to Zone governorship ticket to Ile Ife. 

In a press conference held in Ile Ife, the leadership of the movement led by the Coordinator, Comrade Agbogunleri Oluwaseun called on President Muhammadu Buhari, Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Rauf Aregbesola, APC state chairman, Chief Gbenga Famurudu and other party stakeholders to wade into this election and zone the governorship ticket to Ile Ife  as a compensation for their endurance. 

The movement also called on the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan, community, religious, opinion leaders, Ife sons and daughters to speak with one voice in the coming election. 

The coordinator who spoke on behalf of the movement told newsmen that despite the position of Ile Ife in the Yoruba epistemology, culture and its role in fostering peace and unity and merit based leaders, Ife land remain marginalized in the political leadership of not only Nigeria but also in state where she belong politically.

Comrade Oluwaseun lamented that there is no any aspirant from Ile Ife out of 27 aspirants in the race for the Osun APC ticket.

"The question is,where are the aspirants from Ife lands?. With all the merit based leaders the land possess. We have  heard people saying let them obtain form but upon careful inspection, we realized that the political compass yet again is pointing no to our ambition. 

"If truly we all want our cradle to advance a step further, then we must be interested in the leadership inclusion of her people in the political structure of the State.

"Having discovered that APC has more chance of wining the coming election. The crux of this conference Is  to let  the general public, the Yoruba race, political gladiators and the ruling APC to see the dissonance between the Ife as the cradle of Yoruba races and the Ife people that has been disavowal of political leadership," he said. 

The youth movement however appreciated the good work of the APC government led by President Muhammadu Buhari and lauded work of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola led by APC government in the State.
