World Class Reformers.
World Class Reformers are individuals with uncommon passion for change, they are conglomerate of individuals who work to change and improve the society, government, politics, academics and every facets of life.
World class reformers are change agents and transformers, they are individuals with uncommon passion and zeal, men and women that are never deterred by any factors.
Historically, reforms have taken different forms because the motivations of reformers have differed. However, since the 1980s, education reform has been focused on changing the existing system from one focused on inputs to one focused on outputs (i.e., student achievement).
Many reformers focused on reforming society by reforming education on more scientific, humanistic, pragmatic or democratic principles.John Dewey andAnton Makarenkoare prominent examples of such reformers. Some reformers incorporated several motivations, e.g.Maria Montessori, who both "educated for peace" (a social goal), and to "meet the needs of the child" (A humanistic goal). In historic Prussia, an important motivation for the invention of kindergarten was to foster national unity by teaching a national language while children were young enough, and to help them know that learning a language was easy.
Reform has taken many forms and directions. Throughout history and the present day, the meaning and methods of education have changed through debates over what content or experiences result in an educated individual or an educated society. Changes may be implemented by individual educators and/or by broad-based school organization and/or by curriculum changes with performance evaluations.
World class reformers are inventors, thinkers, doers, world shakers and great leaders whose contributions affected their generation and generations unborn.
In the words of Albert Einstein "Creativity is seeing what others see and thinking what no one else has ever thought"
Socrates, Aristotle and Plato remains individuals whom the world continues to live on their political and philosophical thought. These trio shook the world with their thinking and words of wisdom.
Amazingly this reformers have also inspired men and women in our time who have shaped and continues to shape thoughts and innovations in our time.
In the political sphere, no one will forget in a hurry the Singapore leader and reformer Lee kuan yew, who sign handedly inspired and reformed the country from a third world poverty stricken country into a first world country, the country even after his demise years down the line continues to thrive and break new grounds in every sphere.
What can be said of the female reformer Margaret Thatcher whose humanitarian reforms continue to echo in the heart and minds of millions of people across the world. She was a woman of wit, tact, grace and unmatched demeanour.
Her name warms and soothes the heart of many across the world.
In this vein is the great mind known as Steve Jobs, thy founder of the Apple Corporation, this brainy reformer continues to impact and lead the way for ground breaking innovative ideas in the technological sphere, his inventions in the likes of the mp3 player, the Apple computers, the macbook and the most recent stylish and luxury Iphones continues to shape the way communication gadgets are being created and perceived.
The Mark Zuckerbergs, the Bill gates, the Obamas, the Strive Masiyiwas, the Aliko Dangotes, the Folorunsho Alakijas, the Sole Soyinkas of this world are among the living reformers whose stand and ideas can't be shove outside or thrown into the thrash bin.
The list of these reformers is quite inexhaustible, but it should be noted that will can pick one important absolute from the lives, which in simple truth is dedication to problem solving, a reformer only becomes one based on the reforms he or she has carried out and continues to carry out, making the world a better place for all, their passion to solve problems is vivid and contagious, looking into the future we are challenged like never before to rise up in our little corners to let this little light of ours shine, we are faced with varying problems and each one of us is a solution to one or two of this problems, we should be undeterred in rising up to the challenge.
We should man up, brace up, show up and write our names in gold on the pages of history.
Our generation await us, our unborn children cheers us on. We can, we will and definitely we will.
Welcome to the dawn of the new reformers.
