My Chat with a Niger Okada Rider.
By: Ajayi Folaranmi R

This morning I was going to teach at one extra mural Center, that I do attend to every Wednesday. On my way I decided to hike a bike to my destination.
Then I call on a motor cyclist which I mistook for an Hausa man(he look like one though with no difference)along the way,we started talking and chatting on the economic crisis in Nigeria.
Then I asked him,you come from where then he said "Niger", I was aghasted all because i was expecting him to say one northern part of nigeria, then I ask him is Nigeria good and his reply got me thinking "Nigeria good small". I was observing him neck on neck, there was no difference,I asked him do you speak Hausa he said yes and then he asked me if I knew sokoto, kano and I said yes.
The Niger okada rider was commenting on how his supposed country is better than Nigeria, he said "everything here no good small,Nigerians dey wicked and Una like mago mago".
I was lost in thought and then asked him ,why you come Nigeria and then he told me " I come work",I then tried telling him how there are good and bad people everywhere and he admitted and he told me "Niger better pass Nigeria", i said hmmm but smile bitterly(I was like common,is Nigeria this bad,my mind asks my heart).
Though, Earlier I was with a friend who express how he spent one month in Ghana and power supply was only interrupted for 10mins,my mind was like what! ( as if i didn't know power supply was stable in ghana),Ten minutes in a month!,i exclaimed.I was so sorry for my great country Nigeria and couldn't just go on with work,I was not really happy, so many things dance in the ocean of my thought.
Back to my story, the Niger motorcyclist dropped me at my destination and I doubled the t.fare
and told him nigeria is good ,we are good people,he put on a fake smile and zoom off.
Lessons; Two out of Five Supposed Hausa Nigerian is from Niger Republic(don't ask of my source).
.Nigeria belong to all of us,let us be patriotic and do what is right always.
There are no nations without a PROBLEM, some Celebrate her Problem but so many are committed towards solving the problem.
God bless Nigeria.
