OSUN BANK ROBBERY: PDP CHIEFTAIN BERATES AREGBESOLA FOR INSECURITY IN THE STATE

A Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) chieftain in Osun State, Hon Bade Falade has berated the government of the state of Osun for insecurity that pervade the state.
He asserted this in a statement he released today sequel to the bank robbery that occurred in the ancient city of Iwo during the week.

Giving references to back up his claim, the former lawmaker representing Ede/Ejigbo/Egbedore federal constituency during the sixth NASS said "It would be recalled that the State government of Osun led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola purchased some security apparatus with taxpayers money some years back, it included a chopper and some Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) but the chopper was nowhere to help our security on ground on that day, I'm asking the government on behalf of Iwo people on the state of the helicopter because if it was available that day, the robbery that lasted for more than 40mins, would have helped in truncating their criminal activity, this is the more reason i will blame the government of our state led by Ogbeni Aregbesola for buying weapons and again hiding the same weapons causing the Police to be helpless in the face of challenges they would have needed it for".

Speaking further, the senatorial aspirant in the coming bye-election in Osun-West Senatorial District said, "I was bewildered by the unfortunate and scary event that happened in Iwo on the 6th day of June 2017, it was an event we hope never happen again in our lifetime.
I myself was lucky not to be a victim of that unfortunate event because I was having a meeting near the bank with some associates."

"It is a sacrilege that men of the underworld defied this season of Ramadan and unleashed terror on Iwo that particular day in a dastardly robbery act which will linger in our memories for a longer time."

He also enjoined the Federal government to improved the security apparatus of the nation and promised to promote a bill to guard against such occurrences if elected as a Senator in the coming election.

"In all this, i enjoin the Federal Government to help improve our security force, anyone that witnessed that unfortunate event would know these criminals had access to some weapons that looked stronger than the ones our security force had, securing the lives and properties of Nigerians should be a responsible government's duty, we hope for a quick response on this."

He equally implore the management of the affected bank not to use the unfortunate incidence as a yardstick to stop their activities in the community.

"I however implore the management of all the 3 Banks who are victims of this unfortunate incidence not think of leaving or deserting Iwo but they should rather come up with stronger security framework to forestall such occurrences in the nearest future."
"Absconding is not an option as it will adversely affect the economic activities of the ancient city."

"Once again, I'm offering my condolence to the families of the gallant men of our security force that fell on that day, may the good Lord which we all serve console their families" the statement concluded
